THE "JESUS STORY" AND PARALLELS WITH THE STORIES OF THE SUNGODS...COINCIDENCE?

We are all very familiar with the story: the child who will be the savior of his people is born surrounded by miracles and wonders. His mother became pregnant under mysterious and godly circumstances. His birth was lowly, hardly benefiting a king or a god. The birth was foretold ages before and announced by miracles and cosmic signs. The new baby’s life is in danger from the current king, and he must be spirited away. This is the outline of the story of Jesus as we have come to know it, but it is also the story of Adonis, Dionysus, Mithras, Arthur, and literally hundreds of other gods and heroes of myth, legend, and religion. This story of Christmas is not new. It is older than the story of Jesus. Jesus is not now, and in fact never has been, the reason for the season.

In Seminary I began to notice that something was wrong and I just could not put my finger on it then for certain; besides they kept me busy and with my family my "outside" reading was limited to late nights. This outside reading would continue the whole 3 years of my Seminary training but upon graduation it would accelerate dramatically as I found more blocks of time for such study. Then, as I read more and more looking for a Jewish Jesus and the paths that such a pursuit took me, for example into the myths and legends of the world, I would learn about the psychological and social necessity for myths. As I learned to embrace myth and symbol, and to separate myth and symbol from superstition I discovered the truth about Christmas.

The more I studied intently I would slowly come to see that almost the entire civilized world of more than two thousand years ago "had its own version of Jesus Christ." "The figure of Christ," says Kalthoff, "is drawn in all its chief features before a line of the Gospels was written." At least the figure of Jesus in what is deemed its most captivating form was drawn in every feature long before it was presented in the Gospels. The first symbol of the Christian religion, the manger or basket-cradle of the divine child, the supposed unique exhortation to humility, was one of the most familiar religious emblems of the Ancient world. Had it been exhibited to a crowd in one of the cosmopolitan cities of the Roman Empire, it would not have been new, unique, or overtly special to anyone alive at that time. In fact this same "Pattern" of the virgin and the child was known since Ancient Egypt. On only has to look at the virgin and the child as seen in the depiction of Isis and Horus on the left and note the similarity to the Mary and Jesus depictions later. One person might pronounce the child figures name as Horus, another Mithra, another Hermes, another Dionysus; but all would have shrugged their shoulders nonchalantly at the news that it was just another divine child in the great family of gods. The world flowed on. Only the names were changed.

So here we have all of these ancient cultural influences, each with its own importance and firm entrenchment with the people who followed the beliefs of their various Sungods and "Christs". My supposed "unique and Divine revelation in my historical Jesus" was being found almost everywhere in previous Sungods and Solar saviors the further I read and investigated into Comparative Religions. After a while, I would say about a year of continued studies in Comparative Religions, I could not find anything in my New Testament that was actually "unique" or not repeated in the Ancient religious myths and legends of these earlier Sungods which can be found recorded from almost the beginning of recorded history. The more I investigated into Comparative Religions the more I could see that the "Jesus Story" was a "Pattern"; the outline of the "same story" told over and over again, from nation to nation, since the beginning of recorded time. This same "pattern" or "story" had been repeated down through recorded history; only the names were changed. And to think, here I was, a Seminary graduate no less and did not know this and only stumbled onto it by accident in my outside reading and study. Without a doubt let it be said that the "Jewish Messiah" this character in this "patterned Jesus Story" is not; but Judaism has been saying that for almost two thousands years or more. But something had to be behind these Sungods and these "parallel stories" but I did not have the "keys" to that riddle yet.

Answer for yourself: What is a good Christian to do? Just quit God or become an apostate? No. You seek God for His wisdom and Knowledge and it will be given you.

Prov 2:1-6 1 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; 2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; 3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; 4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; 5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. 6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. So I cried out to God for years that He direct my study because I only wanted "the truth" and I would teach and preach it no matter what it is: I wanted the Truth, the whole Truth so help me God. And God was faithful to open my mind and heart and Spirit to what I never dreamed could be the truth. Let’s not delve into the political history of ancient Rome and Christianity. Let’s take it as a given that the Roman church had great sway over the rulers of the time, and what they did was a move that has been repeated over and over again in the history of Christianity. If you can’t beat ‘em, and you refuse to join ‘em, at least make it appear that you defeated them. So sometime between 354 and 360 C.E., a few decades after Emperor Constantine’s conversion to Christianity and the Nicean Council the religion of "Jesus Christ" was being born. The only problem is that this "Jesus religion", called Christianity today, is a repudiation of not only of Judaism, its mother faith, but the Ancient Divine Wisdom of the Ages that preceded it. It is time for the truth.

Galileo Galilei All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered; the point is to discover them.

I give you truth as we delve into the Astrotheology behind our "Jesus-Story". I will show the reader through the study of the following articles the great number of correspondences from the life of the New Testament Jesus with the stories of former Sungods and with the actual career of the Sun and its path through the Heavens. This path of the Sun, when personified as the Ancients so did in their writings, becomes the "story line" for the later "Jesus Story" as it had in the "Osiris Story", the "Horus Story", the "Dionysus Story", the "Mithra Story", etc. These identical parallels found over thousands of years cannot be attributed to mere coincidence or even to the blasphemous wiles of the Devil! Let us enumerate some of these. There are:

• (1) Birth from a Virgin mother;
• (2) The birth in a stable (cave or underground chamber); and
• (3) The birth on the 25th December (just after the winter solstice).
• (4) There is the Star in the East (Sirius)
• (5) There is the arrival of the Magi (the 'Three King's)
• (6) There is the threatened Massacre of the Innocents, and the consequent flight into a distant country (told also of Krishna and other Sungods).
• (7) There is the Church festival of Candlemas (2nd February), with processions of candles to symbolize the growing light;
• (8) There is the Church festival of Lent, or the arrival of Spring
• (9) There is the Church festival Easter Day (normally on 25th March) to celebrate the crossing of the Equator by the Sun; and
• (10) The simultaneously the outburst of lights at the Holy Sepulchre at Jerusalem.
• (11) The Crucifixion and death of the Lamb-God, on Good Friday, three days before Easter;
• (12) The nailing to a tree,
• (13) The empty grave,
• (14) The glad Resurrection (as in the cases of Osiris, Attis and others)
• (15) The twelve disciples (the Zodiacal signs); and
• (16) The betrayal by one of the twelve.
• (17) Then later there is Mid-summer Day, the 24th June, dedicated to the birth of the beloved disciple John, and corresponding to Christmas Day;
• (18) There are the festivals of the Assumption of the Virgin (15th August)
• (19) The Nativity of the Virgin (8th September), corresponding to the movement of the god through Virgo; there is the conflict of Christ and his disciples with the autumnal asterisms,
• (20) The Serpent and the Scorpion; and finally
• (21) There is the curious fact that the Church dedicates the very day of the winter solstice (when any one may very naturally doubt the rebirth of the Sun) to St. Thomas, who doubted the truth of the Resurrection! Pagan and Christian Creeds, by Edward Carpenter, p. 50.

And it only begins here.

Spinoza said: Be not astonished at new ideas; for it is well known to you that a thing does not therefore cease to be true because it is not accepted by many.

You might want to quit this article now for I lay bare the hidden truth behind our "Jesus Story". At times it is not pretty; but once you get the "keys" so necessary for its proper interpretation, then it becomes really "Good News" for mankind. The "Jesus Story" is the depiction, through the agency of personification, of the Descent of the Soul; its birth, live, intended Spiritual Maturation, and return to our Father in Heaven at the death of the body.

Let me now begin summing up just some of the main points which indicate, overwhelmingly, that the Biblical "Jesus Christ", as depicted "literally" and "historically" in the New Testament is a total fabrication. Here’s why:

• There is no contemporary historical record of any kind about a Jesus Christ- not a single written word in Roman, Greek or Jewish sources tell of this immensely popular miracle worker.
• Nor is there a single artifact from the period to support his historicity. Later supposed proofs are from well past the supposed life span of "Jesus Christ", as depicted in the New Testament, are therefore worthless, as they are hearsay and without source materials as reference.
• The Messiah myth was prophesied in Jewish lore for centuries before Jesus Christ’s time, so there were many claimed Messiahs, as well as many men named Jesus- some who did claim to be miracle workers and messiahs, and were persecuted and crucified by the Romans.
• The Hebrew penchant for cultural borrowing is also in evidence by the manifest similarities the Jesus Christ myth with earlier mythic heroes whose undisputable mythic exploits, lives, and names bear remarkable similarities to those features claimed in a historic Jesus Christ.
• Furthermore, the writers of the 4 Gospels- the de facto founders of Christianity- are all of unknown provenance, and there is not an original text to be found, and none that dates within decades of Jesus Christ’s claimed life-span. Interestingly, Christian apologists have no qualms about applying these methods of deduction to state that other quasi-historical characters never existed, such as the Buddha. Yet, there is a bit more evidence for the reality of this even older figure. The point is while it’s likely that the Buddha never truly existed, and the Christian apologists see this, the claims for Jesus Christ’s existence are even more tenuous- in fact, nonexistent- yet the Christian apologists construct elaborate fantasies to trod over that conclusion. Many historians point to the fact that many Christian leaders, throughout the centuries, have outright admitted that Jesus Christ was not real. The most quoted is this bit from Pope Leo X (1513-1521): ‘What profit has not that fable of Christ brought us!’ The quote appears over & over in many forms, and may be spurious, but the sentiment is not unknown in the various churches that practice Christianity. But, even if all the above were not true, and someone were relating the Biblical tale of Jesus Christ to you, there are many points where even the average listener would stop and go-"Hey, that does not make sense!" The most obvious is how could someone so reputedly famous go unrecorded in contemporary history.

But other less obvious points stick out:

The Crucifixion had been used for centuries before Jesus Christ’s time, and the corpses were left to rot to serve as deterrence. The most known example of this was the famed Spartacus who led slave rebellion of a century or so before, where he and 6000 or more other slaves were left to rot along the Appian Way.

Answer for yourself: So why would Jesus Christ, presumably a far greater long term threat, be allowed to die, then quickly taken away for burial? Why was he on trial in the 1st place? In looking up Pontius Pilate and other Roman prefects of the day it is apparent that trials were dispensed with in favor of immediate execution.

Answer for yourself: Why would Jesus be treated differently? The only reason is that it adds a ‘mythic’ flavor. and, then there are all the elements from other myths. Is this coincidence? Not likely.

Answer for yourself: If I told you that my new religion called "Heaven Bound" was started in memory of Randolph, the Son of the God Yahwichway, who died for your sins on a cross in Washington, D.C., would you not reasonably conclude I had borrowed elements of my tale from the more familiar one which you recognize under the name of "Jesus Christ"? So, it is very reasonable to state the reverse when obvious pre-Christian parts of the "Jesus Christ myth" are propounded as true. Yet, the harebrained Christian apologists simply state what all believers state: "Our god is true, all the others are false. That’s just the way it is."

Let me counter with another quote. This is taken from Robert M. Price’s essay ‘Jesus: Fact or Fiction, A Dialogue With Dr. Robert Price and Rev. John Rankin’: ‘Even if there was a historical Jesus lying back of the gospel of Christ, he can never be recovered. If there ever was a historical Jesus, there isn’t one any more. All attempts to recover him turn out to be just modern remythologizings of Jesus. Every “historical Jesus” is a Christ of faith, of somebody's faith. So the “historical Jesus” of modern scholarship is no less a fiction.’ In other words, way too much bastardy and forgery has taken place to ever be certain; from plagiarisms and frauds, to the Turin Shroud and the fraudulent ossuary of Jesus’ claimed bother. In the end, no amount of proof, evidence of absence, nor reason, will ever dissuade the weak-minded and insecure that their belief system is baseless. This is the fundamental schism between science/logic and religion/faith.

The Jesus Christ of myth is just that. The evidence is clear. There was (with as close to metaphysical certitude as 1 can reasonably ascertain in this life) no historical or literal Jesus Christ of history and the cult that sprang up around this myth is based, as are all other religions, upon nothing but the will of a few to control the many. Rome made its existence secure by controlling the mind of mankind with fear and ignorance. It is time for this to stop!

Answer for yourself: And what might that be? The Descent of the Soul into matter, where the Deific Mind of our Creator comes to live within His creation; humankind as "the Krst/Karest/Christ" within of which the Gnostic Paul speaks in the New Testament. And well should he since Egypt brought this information forward in the beginning of time having seen and recognized it in "the Pattern in the Mount in Heaven".

Let us continue our studies to come to this understanding of the "Soul Science" behind our "Jesus Story"; a story that so few have ever understood correctly over the last 2,000 years.
