HOW THE ANCIENTS VIEWED THEIR SUN GODS AND ITS SPIRITUAL IMPLICATION FOR US TODAY #3

IS THERE A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THESE SUN-GODS AND THE SOUL OF MAN?

Answer for yourself: Of what were these Sun-gods symbolical?

You see this is the point of central importance regarding these allegorical representations of these Sun-gods which were only pictures of the Only One God which was again symbolized by the Sun. The Sun, like God, was the life-giver and sustainer of man's physical existence. Again let me quote Alvin Kuhn who says it best: "They (these Sun-gods) were representative characters, summing and epitomizing in themselves the spiritual history of the human individual in his evolutionary trek across the field of evolving life on earth. They were the types and models of the divine potentiality pictured as coming to realization in their careers. They were the mirror held up to men, in which could be seen the possibilities locked up in man's own nature. They were type-figures, delineating the divine life that was an ever-possible realization for any devoted man." Mr Kuhn is saying that these "Sun-gods" were metaphors and symbols for an ever-coming deity, an ever maturing soul within flesh that was designed to come to an even ever-fuller expression and liberation in the inner heart of every son of man as his soul/spirit rose to dominance over his fleshly urges as he matured and grew spiritually. The Ancients witnessed and came to understand the Sun and its movements through the Heavens in a spiritual sense and in so doing extrapolated from the laws and cycles of is motion spiritual realties that related perfectly to the Divine soul within all humankind. In so doing these Spiritual Masters found unique relationships between this Sun and its movements and the maturation of the soul within mankind and its intended expression through righteous acts and deeds which reinforced and brought harmony and peace in God's Universe. Kuhn goes on to say that "the solar deities were the gods that ever came, that were described as coming not once upon a time, but continuously and regularly. Their radiant divinity might be consummated by any earnest person at any time or achieved piecemeal."

Answer for yourself: Were the Egyptians then looking for the coming of "Karest" (Christ) like we are? Yes and no. Let me explain.

According to Kuhn, speaking of these Sun-gods says: "they (Sun-gods) were typed as ever-coming or coming regularly because they were symboled by the Sun in its annual course around the zodiac of twelve signs, and the regular periodicity of this natural symbol typified the ever-continuing character of their spiritual sunlight (illumination). The ancients, in a way and to a degree almost incomprehensible to the unstudied modern, had made of the Sun's annual course round the heavens a faithful reproduction of the spiritual history of the divine spirit in man. The God in us was embalmed by the Sun in its course, and the Sun's varied experiences, as fabulously construed, were a reflection of our own incarnational history. The Sun in its movements through the signs was made the mirror of our life in spirit. To follow the yearly round of the zodiac was to epitomize graphically the whole history of human experience. Thus the inner meaning of our mortal life was endlessly repeated in the daily, weekly, monthly and yearly cycle of the Sun's passage.

Two things need to be said here. If you understood the above paragraph then understand as well that the Egyptian Gnostics knew that the coming of "Karast" (Christ) within all mankind is realized over and over again in "many comings of God's Karast" as seen in the soul's evolutionary development in the heart of man whereby man grows spiritually and patterned his life, ideas, beliefs, deeds, and actions after the God of the Cosmos whom He witnesses operating, teaching, and speaking to him through observations of His laws, cycles, and patterns observed and understood both in the Heavens above in the movements of celestial orbs, in Nature around him which provided the same laws, cycles, patterns, and physiologically in the processes and cycles, laws, and pattern operating within in own body. This Karest (Christ) was to come anew to man with each repentance and obedience and submission of each man to these Laws, patterns, and cycles taken and understood from the observation of this Uncreated Energy of the Cosmos...this God who was speaking to all His creation and who continually witnessed His will through such patterns and cycles of Heaven and Nature. It was the responsibility of the Egyptian Priesthood to interpret and relate these laws to man and in so doing we now understand the Egyptian anxion of their faith "So above, so beneath; so beneath, so above". Earth was to be a pattern of Heaven come down to man. It was to be God's home. God was to experience His creation through mankind and his life. To the degree that man patterned his life after these laws of harmony and unity which was the accomplishment of his soul's spiritual growth and maturation then God could experience unheeded His creation through mankind. The "Karest/Christ" teaches us in one of his wisdom sayings or "logia".

Matt 6:10 10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. (KJV)

You just read the heart of Egyptian religion expressed in the New Testament: "So above, so beneath; so beneath, so above".

All Religions and Traditions teach that knowledge of God may be gained. Most religious people believe that such knowledge can only be gained after death as a reward by following a set of rules. Jews and Christians call their set of rules the "Commandments". The rules laid out by other religions are very similar, if not the same. And, in contrast to the more popular belief, all Religions agree that God can be found now as opposed to later. They even make it our most important task (Matt 6:33 "First seek the Kingdom of God....").

The commandments may in fact be much more than a set of rules. When we look past ceremonies and symbols, it turns out that, at least in the approach to finding God, Religions are not so different after all. Thus, the path to God can be summarized in one sentence: "Love God with all you Heart, with all your Soul, and with all your mind." This is called the greatest and most important commandment and is shared by Jews, Christians, Moslems, Hindus, and Others. All major Religions agree in essence, but only when we bother to look deeper for the real essence and the real meaning. If God, as omnipresent Awareness, is at the Heart of our Soul, then it stands to reason that we may stand a better chance of discovering this pure Awareness through an act of pure Concentration than by bothering to keep various religious rituals. Concentration is required if we follow the first commandment. Loving God with all our Heart, Mind, and Soul really leaves very little room for any other thoughts. And it is only during these moments of steady tranquillity that God, who is our very own Self at the Center of our Soul, reveals Himself.

Let us go deeper if we can. If you understood the above paragraphs then you now understand why every one of these Sun-gods can be found being allegorically symbolized and depicted as being born in the sign of Capricorn (the constellation whereby the Sun passes through in December at the Winter Solstice on Dec. 25th...just like Jesus) and ended up "crossified" or "crucified" in Spring at Vernal Equinox (just like Jesus) only to be followed by a resurrection from the dead 3 days later (just like Jesus).  This cycle in Heaven was a pattern of self-discovery whereby one finds the Presence of God within his very own self. This Heavenly pattern of movement of the Sun at these equinoxes and solstices again is but a cycle and pattern which is not to be understood "historically" or "literally" but only as expressing and symbolic of a higher allegorical spiritual truth. This "rebirth" (spiritual birth of man and the domination of his soul over his flesh) of the Sun-gods following their death (symbolic of the death of man to his flesh) was  symbolic of the evolution of the "Christ Within" each of us or the Soul and Divine Self of mankind asleep in these fleshy bodies whereby the Self within, the Soul within man, eventually comes to awaken to the truth that he is "Divine" and posses the very spark of God in his flesh and thereby comes to a point knowing this that he submits his flesh to the residing Spirit of God within which desires to instruct and lead him into higher spiritual experiences in his life. Such a "birth" from one's dead flesh and unawakened spirit, is spoken of by Paul

Eph 5:14 14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. (KJV)

In the above verse Paul is speaking to the people who are already alive but considered by the Gnostics to be "dead while they live" since they have not yet come to understand that they, in their physical existence, are literally God manifested in matter. I am speaking the descent of the Soul, of God into matter where the very Divine Spirit that is the "All" became incarnated in all matter (eventually in flesh). Most people and all religions share the conviction that the Soul as man's essential nature is able to survive the body since the Soul (God) is in essence immaterial consciousness or awareness. Years ago in study Kabbalah I found the same teaching whereby God diminishes Himself in ten steps (Sefirots) whereby pure Spirit (En Sof), through a process of emanations, eventually takes upon Himself "matter" at the lowest stage of creation and emanation. As for Judaism, the fundamental corpus of esoteric knowledge known as Kabbalah, must certainly have been born from Egypt. The Ka and the Ba in the term Kabbalah are the spirit and the soul respectively in Egyptian terminology. The structure of Jewish and Christian scripture and the basic Christian story rely heavily on initiatic knowledge and mythic allegory derived from Egypt. The Gnostics taught this same analogy of the Descent of the Soul through the passion of the "Sophia" which is the feminine "Karest/Christ". Before there was even a passion of "the Christ" there is to be found the passion of the Sophia. That is a great study for another day. We find the descent of the Soul expressed in allegory form in the New Testament as the "Christ" descended into the flesh of mankind:

Phil 2:5-7 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: (KJV)

Knowing we are literally the Divine laying asleep and "waiting" for our resurrection in our clay bodies before we actually die is a big, big revelation and should be a life-changing revelation. Sadly too few ever hear it or it seems not to dawn upon them yet hearing repeatedly that they are the "temple of the Holy Spirit". Just look at our country, a Christian nation basically, and look at the crime, violence, drug addiction, and unrighteousness that is rampant. Religion has not worked and never will as long as we are sadly waiting for "the Christ without" to come while the "Christ within us all slumbers and rejects his mission".

The Gnostics teach us that we have failed to understand whom we truly are. That is why the Gnostics always said: "Know whom you are, from where you come, and where you go when you die". We are gods (small "g").

Ps 82:6 6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. (KJV)

John 10:34 34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? (KJV)

Answer for yourself: What should this mean to me?

The careers of these solar gods and "god-men" you see then, were a type of what is to occur inside every man and woman who has dwelling within the spark of divine soul within their body. The Sun-gods were never to be confused with some historical person to the exclusion of everyone else created in the image of God who possessed "the Christ within" (God within as the Soul). Each one of us has had or hopefully will follow the pattern of "the Christ" and have his festival of spiritual awakening at our personal Christmas, at the darkest part of the year (our lives symbolized by the longer days of darkness with less light which occurs at the Winter solstice) which only comes after the "death of the Sun" (told as the symbolic death of the Sun which is a picture of the death of our flesh), and hopefully will experience his glorious resurrection from dead fleshly body of this life while yet alive at his personal Easter/Passover (resurrection of the inner Light of God's Sun to a higher spiritual recognition of his life upon the revelation of one's true identity as the Divine God encased in matter and fleshly bodies...which is our Vernal equinox and which is symbolized by the Sun "crossified" or "crucified at this same Vernal equinox). To those who have studied the "Jesus-Astrotheology" website then this should be self explanatory at this stage of your study. You might need to rethink on what I just said for it truly is deep.

As you see there is no "historical god-man" but yet the metaphysical reality symbolized by these Sun-gods is very real. They are the foundation of all religions and their goals. All the more we should want to study Osiris, Horus, Isis, Egyptian religion etc., and learn how these myths were understood by the Ancients to refer to God in us, our Souls and how we develop, nurture, and develop our spiritual destiny as manifestation of God encased in fleshly bodies. We should want to trace the parallels of this Egyptian revelation of the Divine to Biblical Judaism and embrace it as the closest manifestation of the Ancient truth that exits today. A Christianity who gives us a forged book purposefully misquoted and mistranslated from the Hebrew will not suffice once you learn this and of course at the same time negates this Gnostic understanding of "the Karest/Christ within" whereby we are given a fictitious historical god-man by the name of "Jesus of Nazareth" whom we are taught to worship, sing to, and pray to in "his name". This is a hideous desecration of the Ancient revelation of our God and Creator and simply must not be tolerated in the light of knowledge and truth that comes to us today as but one of many manifestations and comings of "this Christ". As long as we mistakenly await for one to "come" and fix the world instead or rising with our Soul to our responsibility to fix this world then we abdicate our God-given responsibility for Tikkun Olam in repairing this world ourselves.

Typical Christian doctrine says the Christos came once in a single character in history as Jesus of Nazareth and says little if nothing his coming to Everyman at all times of his life. But this was not always the case as evidenced by the discovery of the Nag Hammadi Gnostic gospels over 50 years ago.  Unknown to most today and as modern archeology is teaching us daily the earliest "Chrestians" (the name for the followers of the Gnostic Christ" or "Christians" were not the typical Western Roman Catholics we see as evidenced in the proto-Early Church Fathers but rather the Gnostic Christians whom these proto-Catholics persecuted and murdered almost out of existence and whom they drove "underground" over the first five centuries of the early Gentile Church. In so doing Rome would burn many of the libraries of the world including the library of Alexandria in 398 C.E. as well as others to cover up these prior allegorical Gnostic documents which told of the "non-historical Gnostic Christ" along with the events of his life and "logia sayings" which paralleled the Roman Jesus within their New Testament. Many knew of this forgery of Rome but in time without these documents the world forgot this gross plagiarism. The result is that these Gnostic Christians went underground and remained hidden from the swords of Rome in such movements as the Manichaeans and later Knights Templars who feigned Christianity in order to not be murdered by Rome but were anything but examples of orthodoxy but were in truth Gnostics. In the vacuum of the absence of these Gnostic documents the juggernaut of Rome and their professed "orthodoxy" presented to the world their version of the "Christ-without" as the "Only-Begotten Son of the Father", confusing in one historical figure two distinct characters of ancient philosophy, the Logos and the Christos, and making both historical in a human being born of virgin woman. It goes without saying that neither the "Logos" nor the "Christos" were historical in any of the ancient religious systems from which these doctrines were stolen and later "literalized" by Rome and which was as well put into a fictitious historical timeline of their making. The Logos and the Christos were always known and expressed by the Ancient priests as cosmic forces, since God was but Creative Energy, and the erring Christians, either ignorant of the needed "gnosis" or rejecting it outright, confounded these "personages" of ancient philosophy with a supposed and assumed career of a man called Jesus whom they inherited by oral tradition.  The irony of the whole thing is that this "Jesus", as shown in the last article, was but a "religious concept" which can be traced back to Ancient Egypt some 10,000 years ago who was not other than one of the mythical Sun-god heroes, or national type-figures which in its genesis was but a personification of the movements of the Sun which was to these Ancient priests a symbol of the grown of the Sun within all mankind, his soul. What a travesty of truth the Christian depiction of this "Jesus" as a historical person deserving of worship has become! What a travesty the Gospels have made of the divine spiritual principle in all mens lives!

Alvin Kuhn again has something interesting to point out: "The ancients had no "only-begotten" son because the term used in their systems, woefully mistranslated "only-begotten," was something with quite a different connotation. It was in Greek "monogenes," and in Latin "unigenitus," and was far from meaning "only-begotten." It meant that which was begotten of one parent, the father, alone, not the offspring of the union of father and mother."

Answer for yourself: Why is this important?

Kuhn relates: "By the term the ancients meant to designate him who was the projection into matter of the spirit forces of life (the descent of the Soul), not the final product of the union of spirit and matter, or the male and female elements. Had the early Christian Fathers known of the inner meaning of the symbolism of the Egyptian Ptah, as Khepr-Ra, who was typed by the male beetle that incubated in the ground and without union with the female transformed and regenerated himself after twenty-eight days (exactly a moon cycle...just one of the patterns of which I mentioned earlier) in the form of the young scarab, symbol of the new-born Sun in the moon ( symbol of God being born in matter..ie. flesh), they would have been intelligent enough to have avoided the great schisms that divided the Church into Roman and Greek Catholic bodies over the absurdities this very origin of the persons of the Trinity."

But further from Egypt was Rome of the third century, not only in miles but religious philosophy, than it is from us who have the advantage of the information age, who can now read the inscriptions on the Egyptian temples and monuments that were sealed from Rome till much later. If one has the courage to study Egyptian religion and find the "Jesus Story" carved in Egyptian stone monuments that have existed well over over 10,000 years B.C.E. then he will see of what I speak as the evidence is undeniable. Asa a Pastor I can remember the tears and my broken heart that came from finding out these truth; namely that I had been lied to concerning this Jesus and he New Testament by my spiritual fathers of my faith; both ancient and modern. I often wondered why they had failed to study as I had done to find these truths since they, especially since 1950, had been visible to all who would care enough to look. I guess they cared to little having bought into the assumption that we cannot be wrong as Christians.

All this ancient scriptural data accentuates the fact that not the historical Jesus, but the spiritual Christ, or the god within the individual heart as expounded in Platonic Philosophy, which finds its final expression as Gnostic Christianity, is the subject of the sacred writings of old, and the kernel of the whole religious ideology up until the 3rd century when Rome changes the Ancient religious traditions and creates as well as forges existing documents to both "write in" as well as "replace" the previous ideas of the "Christ within" with a "fleshly Christ without".

DID YOU KNOW WE FIND JESUS IN EGYPT 10,000 YEARS AGO?

By the benefit of antiquated sacred books we have been enabled today to trace authentically the origin of the name Jesus. And it is of great importance to see this because it throws a flood of clear light upon the ancient conceptions of the Messiah and the coming Son, or Sun-god. In this light the name will be seen to be a type-designation and not the personal name of an historical being.

It is derived from the two letters (or numbers) which in the beginning of typology symbolized the two first elements, spirit and matter, into which the primal One Life separated. They are the "I" or the number "1" symboling the male or spirit, and the "O" (letter) or "0" (zero) symboling the female, womb, or material universe. Together they represented the biune male-female deity. We have, then, the letters "IO", or the number "10". As the vowels were freely interchanged, in ancient languages, the name was written either "IO", "IA", "IE", or "IU", and all these forms are found. Next the "I" was over time transformed into consonantal value and became a "J" (as it is yet in Latin), so that we find the names "JO", "JA", "JE" and "JU", from each of which many names have arisen. When the creation had combined the male and female and the two had given birth to the Son, or Logos and Logoic universe, the name was given the form of three letters, and we then find such forms as "IAO", "JAH", "IEO", "JEU", "ZUE". When the universe became founded on the four cardinal points or the square of four dimensions, the name was spelled variously as "IEOU", "JOVE", "ZEUS", "JEVE", "DIOS", "T/HEOS", "HUHI", "IHUH" and others. In its character as a sevenfold or seven-lettered name, it took the form of "JEHOVAH", "SABAOTH"," DEBORAH", "DELILAH", "SEP/HIROT/H", "MICHAEL", "SOLOMON", and others of seven letters. The "I" permuted with "L" (el) or "1" (one), so that "IE" became "LE" or, inverted "EL", the great Hebrew character of deity. The "EL" and the "IAH", or "JAH", became the most frequent determinatives of divinity, as a host of names will testify. There are "Bethel", "Emanuel", "Michael", "Israel", "Gabriel", "Samuel", "Abdiel", "Uriel", "Muriel", "Azazel", and many others, in which the "EL" is prefixed. The "JAH" is seen in such names as "EliJAH", "AbiJAH", while the "IAH" comes in a host of such names as "Nehemiah", "Jeremiah", "Obediah", "Hezekiah", "Isaiah", "Messiah", "Alleluiah" and more.

Answer for yourself: But whence comes the "s" in Jesus's name?

This is of great importance. It is derived from an Egyptian suffix written either "SA", "SE", "SI", "SU", or "SAF", "SEF", "SIF" or "SUF" ("SAPH", "SEPH", "SIPH" or "SUPH") and meaning "the son," "heir," "prince" or successor to the father. The "F" is an Egyptian ending for the masculine singular. When the original symbol of divinity, "IO" or "IE", "JO" or "JE", was combined with the Egyptian suffix for the succeeding heir, "SU" or "SA", the resultant was the name "IUSA", "IUSE", "IUSU", or "IOSE"; or "IESU", "JESU", "IUSEF", "IOSEF", "JOSEF". One of the many forms was "JESU" and another was "JOSEF". The final "F" became sibilant at times and gave us the eventual form of "JESUS"

Answer for yourself: Need I remind the reader that this was a "religious concept"and not a historical personage in Ancient Egypt? Could we have in our Bible an erroneous understanding of this "religious concept" mistakenly represented as a historical person when in fact no historical person was ever intended by the Ancients who gave us these religious concepts and words in the first place?

The name then meant the "divine son," and combined in the Egyptian "IU"the idea of the coming one. Hence "JESUS" was the Egyptian "Messiah", the coming son of the divine life. There we find "Jesus" existing in Egypt for ten thousand years B.C. but only as a religious concept and idea which was expressed in all of creation and not confined to just one person.  We find the character of this functionary under the name of "IUSA". Later he was the "Iu-em-hetep", which means "the divine son who comes with peace (hetep). But most interestingly, this last word also means seven. Hence "Jesus" is he who comes as the seventh principle to complete the six elementary powers of natural evolution with the gift of divine intelligence, which supplants the elementary chaos with the rulership of love and intelligence and thus brings peace into a warring situation. Hence finally, Jesus is the seventh cosmic principle, announced in all religious lore as he who comes to bring peace and good will to men. And as such he was announced in the Christian Gospels. But there was more than one "Jesus" or "IUSA" or "IU" before the coming of the alleged historical Jesus. Startling as are the implications of this bit of etymology, a far more amazing denouement of Bible study is the revelation that not only were there over thirty Sun-god figures in the cults of the various nations of old, but there are immediately in the Bible itself, in the Old Testament, some twenty more Sun-god characters under the very name of Jesus undervariant forms of this one name! But that is a study for another day.

LET US SUMMARIZE

Answer for yourself: So what have we said so far? Let us recapitulate.

If you have understood what I have tried to teach up to now then it becomes plain to you that we see that the Sun-gods, their stories, their actions and their "sayings" and "teachings" were intended to convey to the initiates of the "Inner Mysteries" the conception of one's divinity hidden within these bodies of flesh in which God dwells in the form of man's Soul-Spirit and the responsibilities that man had to the Creator that gave him life in the first place.

Answer for yourself: Do we find this idea put into the mouth of the Christ in the New Testament? Yes we do as we saw above:

John 10:34 34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? (KJV)

Answer for yourself: Should what these Sun-gods and their stories and sayings meant to the Ancients mean the same to us today?

If you answered the above question with a "yes" then it means that the divinity hidden within us, our divine soul or Self, was itself the Sun-god, or solar deity. This explains why the Ancient Egyptians desired to become "Osiris".

Answer for yourself: And what does this signify in concrete terms for us? Just this; that the God within us is constituted of the imperishable essence of solar light and energy! In short, we ourselves, in our higher nature, are solar gods in potentiality! Our highest nature is an incorruptible body composed of the glorious essence of the Sun's energy! It might now have dawned on you why the "gods" in the Bible were always symboled by the light or fire of the Sun.

Ps 84:11 11 For the LORD God is a Sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. (KJV)

Deut 4:24 24 For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God. (KJV)

We are now enlightened to see how the term "Sun-god" truly meant to the Ancients as it described man's own nature as veritable truth and fact. We are Sun-gods. Our immortal spirits within us are composed of the radiant substance of solar energy drawn from God and the Cosmic source from which all live originates.

Many read the Bible never understanding what they read. If we use a watchful eye we can see that the Bible speaks to our solar constitution. Beside the above two passages drawn from many let us look at what "the Christ" has to say:

"I am come to send fire on earth," meaning he came to scatter the separated sparks of solar essence amongst mankind, a spark to each soul.

Then says John the Baptist: "I indeed baptize you with water, but he that cometh after me will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire!"

Says Jesus: "When I am in the world I am the light of the world." Again he said: "Ye are the light of the world," and "Let your light so shine that others may . . . glory your father which is in heaven."

The Lord, say the Psalms, "made his angels messengers and his ministers a flame of fire."

The New Testament depiction of Christ, following the well-known Egyptian diagram of the Ankh, the solar disk with the spread wings, is described as Mal. 4:2 "the Sun of righteousness, risen with healing in his wings."

John declares that the Christos "was the true light" which was to come Messianically for the redemption of our lower nature. And again he declares that with the Christos "light is come into the world." No cry echoes with more resounding intensity down to this age than Paul's exhortation to our souls buried in lethal darkness: Eph 5:4 4 "Awake, thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine upon thee!"

And in Revelation there are those mighty pronouncements: in the spiritual resurrection Rev. 21: 23 23 there shall be no more need of the Sun to shine by day nor the moon by night, for the glory of the Lord did lighten it."

And there is no more heartening assurance anywhere in the Bible than the further statement of the Ephesian writer: Eph 5:8 8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (KJV)

And these are only a gleaning from the great score of similar passages with which the Bible teems. Upon second look it gets harder to think that there is references to the idea of God and His Christ being manifested as "the Sun" or the "Sun-god" idea in the Bible!

And from the great old Egyptian Book of the Dead we take just one passage among scores: "Lo, I come from the Lake of Flame, from the Lake of Fire, and from the field of flame, and I live." And again, from an old Book of Adam and Eve we quote a great passage in which the Lord says: "I made thee of the light, and I wished to bring out children of the light from thee." If only we had been taught by our religious teachers that our spiritual natures are woven and fabricated of solar light, we should have had a clearer apprehension of our potentialities for divine education.

With the emergence of the Greek philosophers we see these same ideas expressed in somewhat a simpler manner. When we look at Greek Platonic philosophy, which is the lost link between science and religion, we find such statements as from the learned Proclus, last of the Great Platonists: "The light of the Sun is the pure energy of intellect."

Answer for yourself: Did you catch the significance of that statement? The fiery radiance of the Sun is already the motivating genius of intellect! Matter is itself intelligent and intelligence! Here is the basic link between all naturalism and all spirituality. Matter (the flesh of man) enshrouds and contains the soul of mind and spirit. The light of the Sun is basically the deific flash of intellect imparted to us from the First Cause of all creation. And the very core of our conscious being is this "Divine Spark" that emanates from that Infinite Indestructible Energy of solar light whom we call "God". This intellect, residing in the highest of all of God's creatures makes us being created in "the image of God" and you can go so far as to understand that it is this intellect that makes us a "god".

This intellect, symbolized by the fire of the Sun, is sent to earth to inhabit matter. It is the duty of the fiery spark to enlighten the whole dark realm of mankind's life, to transform the baser dross of animal inclination into the finer motivation of love which is the very essence of this Life-Giver we call "God". This transformation is a process of altering this matter of mankind into the likeness of God. We call it "Christlikeness" today. In Egyptian scriptures the twelve sons of Ra (the twelve sons of Jacob, and the twelve tribes of Israel) were called the "twelve saviors of the treasure of light." An Egyptian text reads: "This is the Sun within us, the seminal source of light. Do not dim its luster or cause it to suffer eclipse."

We see the same wisdom expressed by "the Christ":

Matt 5:15-16 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. (KJV)

In closing let us look quickly at Ps 24:7 7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. (KJV)

Answer for yourself: Who is this King of Glory?

The above passage exhorts us to lift up our heads (intellect) and open the doors of our hearts to let this King of Glory enter into our lives. This King of Glory has been symbolized by the Ancients as the Sun-soul within all mankind, raised the fullness of His Christ-like stature to where our flesh (matter) is submitted to the will of God through the indwelling Christ (the intellect of God). This King of Glory you see is the immortal Sun-god, the very deity that resides in our heart and soul; and when he awakes from his slumber as man comes to realize just whom he is which is the dwelling place for God, where he has come from which is the realm of Heaven, and where he goes when he passes following death as his Sun-soul returns of this Cosmic Intelligent Energy whom we call God, then this "indwelling Christ" can arise to come fellowship with us and live through us. In this way God can experience and enjoy His creation through man. Only with this revelation can we man fully come to behold God's glory that dwell within, as of the alone-begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. And when this revelation appears to those still sitting in the shadow of darkness and ignorance of their true condition and being, they then can respond and identify with the passage: "they have seen a great light, and to those that sat in the valley of darkness did the light shine." And it is this light, when man "awakes from his sleep and rises from his spiritual death" that he can see and realize his true nature; for it is this light from our Sun-soul "...that lighteth every man that cometh into the world" Jn. 1:9.

Let us continue our studies.
